Alex Tittle Joins Medica as Senior Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

October 1, 2020

MINNETONKA, Minn. — Medica today announced that Alex Tittle has joined the organization as Senior Director, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

In this new role at Medica, Tittle will lead the design, development and implementation of DEI strategies and programs, and serve as a collaborative partner to the community as well as a trusted advisor to Medica's senior leadership.

This new role, focused initially on internal strategy, complements other Medica initiatives to support DEI. Some external actions include opening an office in the Midway area of St. Paul — with a commitment to hire locally; providing emergency grants to areas damaged by social unrest in the Twin Cities; signing a community-wide commitment to eliminate systemic racism and its negative impact on health and well-being.

"We are fortunate to have Alex join us at Medica," said John Naylor, Medica President and CEO. "He brings passion and expertise to help lead us to meaningful change around DEI within our organization and in partnership with the broader community. His deep background will help us find even more impactful ways to listen and respond to the needs of the diverse population served by the Medica team and our employees."

Prior to joining Medica, Tittle was Corporate Director of Diversity & Inclusion at Christiana Care Health System in Delaware. He also has served as the Director of Disparity Reduction for Hennepin County, VP, Business Connect & Corporate Affairs for the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee, Equity Director and Consultant for the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and Director of the Civil Rights Office at the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Additionally, Tittle served for 10 years as an officer in the U.S. Army.

Tittle has a commitment to community service. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Page Education Foundation. His previous board service includes Minnesota Humanities, Turning Point, YouthLink and the African American Leadership Forum.

He holds a dual Master of Arts degree in Human Resources and Management from Webster University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Wellness from The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina.
