Medica Special Needs BasicCare Health Plan Now in Morrison, Todd and Wadena Counties

Minneapolis — Eligible adults in Morrison, Todd and Wadena counties can now enroll in Medica's Special Needs BasicCare Plan (SNBC) for coverage that starts June 1, 2020. The plan is Medica AccessAbility Solution® (SNBC). It now is offered in Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Kandiyohi, Morrison, Ramsey, Rice, Scott, Todd, Sherburne, Wadena, Washington and Wright counties.

Medica AccessAbility Solution is for adults ages 18-64 who qualify for Minnesota Medical Assistance (Medicaid) and have certified mental health, physical and developmental disabilities. It has a $0 premium and $0 copays and deductibles.

All members have a personal Medica Care Coordinator who makes sure medical, social and daily needs are met. Benefits also include dental care, eyewear and no-cost rides to medical appointments.

The plan also has benefits that cover hospital and emergency room care, home health services, lab and X-rays, prescription drugs, nursing home care and other important health services.

Residents eligible for SNBC in counties served by Medica may enroll by calling 1-800-266-2157 (toll-free) (TTY: 711) 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST, Monday-Friday. They also can enroll online or request a form by calling 1-800-266-2157 (toll-free) (TTY: 711).

Medica has offered SNBC plans since they were first approved in 2008 by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.
