New Individual Market Plan – Ridgeview Distinct by MedicaSM – Introduced in
Seven Minnesota Counties

MINNETONKA, Minn. — Medica today announced a new health plan option for individuals and families in a seven-county area in the southwest metro area and beyond. The plan, Ridgeview Distinct by Medica, builds on an existing relationship between Medica and Ridgeview. It is an insurance plan for individuals and families focused on getting the highest quality care at an affordable price. Ridgeview Distinct by Medica will be available starting Nov. 1, 2019 when the Open Enrollment Period for 2020 begins. A variety of benefit design options are available, including copay plans, health savings account compatible plans, and a catastrophic plan for those who qualify. Enrollment in the plan is available through MNsure for coverage on or after Jan. 1, 2020.
Ridgeview Distinct by Medica is available to Minnesota residents who live in the following counties: Carver, Hennepin, Le Sueur, McLeod, Scott, Sibley, and Wright.
Ridgeview Distinct by Medica includes Ridgeview and its provider network, including more than 300 primary care and specialty physicians, hospitals, home health services, plus urgent care). Members have direct access to Ridgeview Medical Center and Clinics; Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center; Lakeview Clinic, Ltd.; OBGYN West; Wayzata Children's Clinic; Western OB/GYN, A Division of Ridgeview Clinics; South Lake Pediatrics, and Catalyst Medical Clinic. In addition, Ridgeview Community Network partners with six hospitals including Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington, Ridgeview LeSueur Medical Center, Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Hennepin County Medical Center and all of Children's Hospitals and Clinics — including specialists located in Ridgeview's Emergency and Urgent Care at Two Twelve Medical Center in Chaska. It also includes Ridgeview eCare, an online care service. Network providers can be found at medica.com/DistinctNetwork after October 1, 2019. A complex specialty care program featuring Mayo Clinic will be available and include allowance for transportation, lodging and living expenses in certain cases.
Ridgeview Distinct by Medica features the Healthy Living with Medica program, a personalized wellness program with reward and discounts earned for participation. The plan also includes the Ovia Health app for expectant parents, which provides personalized clinically-based guidance and support for the parenthood journey. Members also have access to a Health Advocate, an individual who helps members address health care concerns and can do the legwork to help identify appropriate providers and find answers to questions about claims, costs, procedures and other health matters.
Ridgeview Distinct by Medica represents the second collaborative effort between Medica and Ridgeview Medical Center. In 2014, the organizations launched Ridgeview Community Network, an accountable care organization health plan option for group customers.
