New Individual Market Plan, Select by Medica, introduced in Kansas

Features Saint Luke’s Health System in the Kansas City Area

MINNETONKA, Minn. — Medica today announced a new health plan option for individuals and families in Kansas. The plan, Select by MedicaSM, will be available November 1, 2017 when the Open Enrollment Period for 2018 begins. A variety of benefit design options are available, including copay plans, health savings account compatible plans, and a catastrophic plan for those who qualify. Enrollment in the plan is available on the Kansas Health Insurance Marketplace (HealthCare.gov) for coverage on or after January 1, 2018.

Select by Medica is available to Kansas residents who live in Johnson or Wyandotte Counties.

Members receive care from providers in the Select Network featuring care at Saint Luke’s Health System. Network providers can be found at medica.com/selectnetwork in mid-October 2017 when the "window shopping" period of the 2018 Open Enrollment Period begins.

Saint Luke's Health System is nationally ranked for quality care. It includes one of the nation's top 35 cardiology and heart surgery programs for adults, recognized liver, heart and kidney transplant programs, one of the nation's leading stroke reversal programs dedicated to preventing and treating stroke and a nationally recognized children's behavioral health center.

Other key features of the plan include online health information including health topics self- help resources, medical test information, interactive health tools and medication reference guides. Members also have access to their personalized health information through a secure website where they can view test results and communicate with their Saint Luke's doctors, among other features.

Select by Medica is just one of two product options available to individuals and families in Kansas from Medica in 2018. "Medica Connect, our market entrance product in 2017, will continue to be offered in 103 counties in Kansas.
