Medica to Expand into Eight Counties in Southwest Wisconsin
New Plan featuring Mayo Clinic Health System Coming to 14 Counties

MINNETONKA, Minn. — Medica today filed with the State of Wisconsin Office of the Commissioner of Insurance to sell individual health insurance products in 21 counties for the 2018 coverage year.
The filing includes a new product, Engage by Medica, which features Mayo Clinic Health System as a preferred network provider. The product will be offered in 14 counties. More information about Engage by Medica will be available when all regulatory approvals have been finalized.
With today's announcement, Medica has signaled its intention to increase its footprint in Wisconsin by eight counties. In prior years, Medica Individual Choice, a broad open access network product, was available in 13 Wisconsin counties, a product offering that will also continue in 2018 pending regulatory approvals.
As indicated by the chart below, there is some overlap in the counties where Engage by Medica and Medica Individual Choice will be offered, providing consumer choice for 2018.
