Nationwide Travel and Snowbird Coverage

Nationwide travel and "snowbird" coverage with full in-network benefits within the United States for up to 9 consecutive months. If you plan to be away from home for more than 90 days, simply call Medica's customer service to activate the Extended Absence Option to have access and coverage to out-of-network providers. We'll take care of the rest.

How to use the Extended Absence Option

• If you'll be out of the Medica service area for more than 90 days, give us a call and let us know the dates you'll be gone. This will activate your Extend Absence Option coverage. If you forget to activate your coverage before you leave, call us as soon as you remember.
• If you'll be gone fewer than 90 days, you don't need to let us know. Your coverage will continue while you're away.
• Remember to take your Medicare and Medica ID cards with you when you travel.
